Stephen Granville Vance, M.D. - Family Physician in Dillon, S.C.

Dr. Vance draws on thirty-five years as a rural family physician in South Carolina to give insight into the medical lives and emotional struggles of his patients. His debut novel weaves together characters inspired by the many patients he has accompanied through the challenges of cancer and the emotional terrain that follows.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, East Carolina University School of Medicine, and the University of South Carolina Family Medicine Residency—where he was co-chief resident.

He has compassionately served the Dillon community while savoring the privacy and farm routines of country living. He and his wife, Kimberly, share a hay farm filled with horses, chickens, cats, and dogs.  He is an active supporter of the Humane Society. Together they delight in the lives of their four adult children—Chayce, Daniel, Christian-Kate, and Grace.

He is a blessed and happy man, a Christian, a husband twice, a father four times, a son of devoted but imperfect parents with two immensely loved brothers, a dedicated doctor and a friend to many.

$9 well spent for real joy.

God checking in on my hay field perhaps.
